Types of Cardboard Boxes to Recycle in Sioux Falls?
posted in Recycling Rules by Marissa Begley
Many products we buy are packaged in boxes, usually made of cardboard for shipping boxes or paperboard (boxboard or chipboard) for other common household items or food products.
Unlike corrugated cardboard, paperboard is made with just one layer, while cardboard is made with three (two flat layers around the middle wavy layer). Cardboard, cartons and paperboard are all recyclable and can be turned into things like new boxes, cartons, paper towel rolls, tissues, or paper backing on roofing shingles!
How much food/grease is okay? If there’s too much grease (aka soaked through a pizza box), please keep it out of the recycling bin. If it’s just a little bit here and there, scrape any food out to get it as clean as possible and toss it in (see how)!
