Sioux Falls Cardboard Recycling Guide

The Yes List: In Detail

Cardboard, cartons and paperboard are all recyclable and can be turned into things like new boxes, cartons, paper towel rolls, tissues, or paper backing on roofing shingles!

Unlike corrugated cardboard, paperboard is made with just one layer, while cardboard is made with three (two flat layers around the middle wavy layer).

Cardboard, cartons and paperboard are some of the many materials you can recycle in your single-stream bin. Here’s a quick guide to what you can and can’t include:

How much food/grease is okay on cardboard? If soaked through a pizza box, rip that part off and recycle the rest. If it’s just a little bit here and there, scrape any food out to get it as clean as possible and toss it in!

Not just for cardboard! Check out everything you can put in your recycling bin here! If you don’t see what you’re looking for, ask us!
