New Recycling Education Trailer Available for South Dakota Schools and Events

Recycling Educational Trailer

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., September 17, 2024Millennium Recycling, Inc., in partnership with the nonprofit BINfluencer, is excited to announce the launch of a new educational trailer that will teach people about waste diversion, recycling, and reuse. This mobile resource will be available for schools and community events in the five counties served by the Sioux Falls landfill, as well as travel to other areas Millennium serves, including Yankton, Brookings, Mitchell, and Huron.

The trailer is designed to provide an interactive learning experience that shows how easy and impactful recycling can be. It covers everything from basic recycling practices to hard-to-recycle items, helping individuals understand their role in reducing waste and inspiring others to do the same.

“We want to make recycling simple and fun,” said Stephanie Gongopoulos, BINfluencer board president. “This trailer gives people hands-on ways to connect with recycling and waste reduction, so they can leave ready to make a real difference in their community.”

In addition to launching the trailer, Millennium has hired Misty McBeth as their new Community Engagement Coordinator. Misty will be visiting schools and attending events, providing in-person education and offering tours of Millennium’s recycling facility in Sioux Falls.

“We’ve always tried to accommodate requests for tours and education, but the demand has been huge,” said Shannon Dwire, president of Millennium Recycling. “With Misty on board full-time, we can expand our efforts and meet the needs of schools and communities that want to learn more about recycling.”
