Construction and Demolition (C&D) materials like ceiling tiles are NOT accepted at Millennium. We only accept single stream items.
Earlier this week, we pulled an entire load of ceiling tiles out of our public drop off bin. They filled our entire dumpster, meaning it took someone quite awhile to put each of them through the small door, and it took our team a TON of work to sort them all out and send them to the right place.
C&D items can still be recycled, just not in your recycling bin or at our facility. The Sioux Falls Regional Sanitary Landfill (26750 464th Ave, Hartford SD 57033, 605-367-8162) accepts construction waste and demolition debris including concrete, asphaltic concrete, concrete block, brick, stonework, asphaltic or fiberglass shingles, roofing shingles, painted or stained wood, scrap lumber, untreated wood, built-in cabinetry, construction plastic, ceramic fixtures, wiring, conduit, glass, metal, attached insulation and similar wastes, tile (ceramic floor, vinyl, etc.), drywall (from demo projects only) and pipe.
You can call a local hauler to collect and haul your materials to the landfill for recycling or take it there yourself. Just check in at the scale house for instructions and proceed to the C&D tip area to unload.
